Benefits of an LPP

The Licensed Paralegal Practitioner (LPP) designation was established by the Utah Supreme Court in 2018 to help narrow the "justice gap"—the disparity between those who need legal assistance and those who can afford traditional attorney representation.

Much like nurse practitioners who provide quality healthcare at a lower cost than physicians, LPPs are licensed professionals who provide specialized affordable legal services. Their hourly rates are often half those of experienced attorneys, making quality legal representation more accessible.

LPPs must meet rigorous education, experience, and ethical standards, pass a licensing examination, and complete continuing legal education each year to maintain their license.

Because most divorce and custody cases in Utah are resolved without going to trial, an LPP can effectively represent clients through much of the legal process.
